Happy New
Year everyone!
What’s the good
word for CIASTD in 2004? Shock and awe? Xtreme? Bling-bling?
Popular culture declared
“chad” the word in 2000. It was “ground zero”
in 2001, “misunderestimate” in 2002, and “embedded”
in 2003. What’s the word for 2004?
For CIASTD the good
word in 2004 is NEW. We have some great new stuff coming. For example:
- Three NEW
and very fired-up Board members who you will hear a lot from
- Krista Skidmore
joins the Board as the new VP of Programs.
- Leanne Batchelder
joins as VP of Membership.
- David Llewellyn
joins as VP of Special Events.
- NEW venues
Yes, NEW venues. We
are taking our show on the road. Our faithful members whose cars automatically
steered to Ivy Tech each month must get reprogrammed. The January meeting
is at The Murat, and February’s meeting is at The Marott. The NEW
locations offer more room, more menu selections, and more business-appropriate
settings. This should help members feel like they are getting more quality
for the price. This is also why we have a NEW monthly fee—raised
slightly so we can offer members first-rate networking and educational
events.
- NEW plans
- How about
CEU’s for meetings?
- How about a
Regional Conference in 2005 that features speakers from the ASTD
International Conference?
- How about
joint meetings with other professional associations?
What’s in store
for 2004? A little of the old and a lot of the NEW, but most of all it’s
all about YOU.
Happy New Year CIASTD
members! Welcome to a NEW level of excitement for CIASTD in 2004.
Linda
is president if CIASTD and is Director of Staff Development at ITT Educational
Services, Inc.

interactive examples, our presentation team will walk you through
performance consulting situations they have personally experienced.
You’ll see theory in action, learning how this group of
experienced practitioners tackles a performance consulting problem
starting with analysis and ending with the evaluation of a properly
selected and designed intervention. Our team would also like to
help you with your performance consulting challenges. We’ll
play a round of “Stump the Chumps” – so bring
your performance improvement worries and let the team help you
out. Come ready to roll up your sleeves and work. Our presentation
