2006 Fall Education Conference

On November 16, 2006, CIASTD proudly welcomed Linda Boardman-Fite to the Indianapolis Museum of Art for a wonderful learning event centered on the concept of change management. Participants engaged in several interactive activities and discussions focused on handling change in a more effective way. As a special bonus (and tied to the concept of change), participants were provided with juggling balls and a chance to learn how to juggle.

In addition to the informative session on change management, participants also engaged in a networking session called Creative Connections where participants got a chance to talk to other Workplace Learning and Performance professionals about a variety of topics.

If you missed this year’s Fall Forum, be sure to watch for information about the 2007 event!

2006 CIASTD Annual Holiday Event

The 2006 CIASTD Holiday Event took place on December 1st at the Marott with many CIASTD members in attendance. The event included a Dress for Success drive and a silent auction where those members who volunteer throughout the year bid on a variety of items including an iPod Nano, a digital camera, Simon Mall gift cards, spa packages, and more. Raffle tickets were given away for anyone donating to the Dress for Success Drive, and attendees could also purchase one or more raffle tickets for a video iPod. The iPod raffle supported the CIASTD scholarship program.

The big winner of the morning was Sharon McGuire who won both raffles and was presented with a President’s Award for her extraordinary volunteer service on the membership committee working on a website initiative. Other award winners included Gayle Beebe who was presented with a President’s Award for her outstanding volunteer service on the membership committee including work on the website initiative with Sharon, Lee Ann Flick who was presented with a President’s Award for her exceptional volunteer service as the programs committee chair, Michelle Burke who was presented with the Rookie of the Year Award for her involvement in several committees, and Don Johnson who was presented with the Hall of Fame Award for his continued involvement in the success of CIASTD.
