GP's division, Option Six (www.optionsix.com), has an immediate need for a Course Director in Bloomington, IN.

Course Director Job Overview:
The Course Director (CD) provides leadership and high-level supervision of course development teams. The CD ensures overall project quality and success. The CD is a key link between the project teams and the executive staff. From the teams upward, the CD communicates information about staffing needs, progress toward timeline and budget goals, client relationship issues, performance improvement needs, and opportunities for future projects. From the executive staff downward, the CD communicates information about project budgets and timelines, organizational goals, staffing assignments, and performance requirements. The CD is a general resource to the teams; providing guidance, coaching, and feedback when needed about instructional design, project management, client relations, process improvement, and team communication. The CD is a mentor particularly to Team Leaders, as well as other instructional designers. The CD also is an important contributor to building good client relationships and establishing new client relationships.

Responsibilities:

Organizational Leadership
- Participating in Leadership Team Meetings
- Directing Strategic Initiatives, as appropriate
- Supporting New Staff Orientation
- Facilitating employee/management communications

Financial Account Leadership
- Managing profitability for multiple clients
- Scope projects to meet clients' budgets
- Managing course/course suite design and development so they are within scope and budget

Project Management
- Providing project management leadership for courses suites
- Providing leadership about project process and tools to ensure team effectiveness and efficiency

Client Leadership
- Supporting Marketing and Sales Initiatives
- Maintaining Ongoing Client Relationships
- Managing Client Relationships in Project

Team Leadership
- Leading supervision of Team Leaders, Sr. IDs, and/or IDs
- Identifying areas for team development
- Ensuring successful application of company's principles

Instructional Design Leadership
- Leading the establishment and dissemination of ID best practices
- Providing quality oversight for instructional design and development of courses
- Helping lead ID development and innovation through ID Forums, special projects, and other activities

Job Qualifications:

- Master's degree in Instructional Systems Technology, Educational Psychology, or related field
- Generally, minimum two years experience leading instructional design team(s)
- Generally, minimum 10 years experience as an instructional design professional
- Positive references from past employers or clients
